A PM’s Core Responsibilities

A product manager’s day-to-day work usually spans five areas:

  • Discovery: understand users, pain points, and market context
  • Prioritization: choose what matters now and what can wait
  • Delivery: clarify scope, sequence, and decisions during execution
  • Measurement: define success and inspect results after release
  • Alignment: keep stakeholders informed and teams moving together

The mix changes by company, but these responsibilities show up almost everywhere.
